JOB SUMMARY 
 
ESCO Plastics, part of Colson Group, is investing in a new automated polyurethane manufacturing line at its Magnolia, Texas facility. This strategic expansion will introduce advanced manufacturing technologies, automation, and modern production processes to support future business growth. Team members joining this project will have the unique opportunity to help build a new operation from the ground up, work with state-of-the-art equipment, develop new skills, and contribute to one of the company's most important growth initiatives. 
 
The Core Preparation Operator is responsible for performing ultrasonic cleaning, sand blasting, shot blasting, core inspection, and pre-bond surface preparation activities to ensure metal cores are clean, dry, properly roughened, and ready for adhesive application. This is a first shift, onsite position, hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00AM-3:30PM with overtime as required.

 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Perform incoming core handling and pre-process inspections for cast iron and aluminum cores prior to cleaning and blasting operations. 
  • Operate ultrasonic cleaning equipment to remove cutting fluids, oils, and contaminants. 
  • Operate sand blasting and/or shot blasting equipment according to requirements and standards. 
  • Inspect blasted surfaces for coverage, contamination, damage, or other adhesion-impacting conditions. 
  • Clean, stage, and protect prepared cores prior to bonding. 
  • Handle blasting media, dust, cleaning solutions, waste materials, and housekeeping activities in accordance with EHS requirements. 
  • Maintain equipment condition and perform daily cleaning and inspections. 
  • Complete production, inspection, and traceability records. 
  • Coordinate with Bonding Operators and Production Supervisors to maintain workflow. 
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred. 
  • Previous sandblasting, shot blasting, ultrasonic cleaning, surface preparation, or industrial painting experience preferred. 
  • Basic math skills and ability to follow work instructions and production schedules. 
  • Strong attention to detail and quality mindset. 
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, planning, and time management skills. 
  • Self-driven and able to work with minimal supervision. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods. 
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds safely. 
 
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or GED required. 
  • Additional technical training preferred. 
  • Experience in manufacturing, warehouse operations, or related industrial environments preferred.
