Quality Control Technician
JOB SUMMARY
ESCO Plastics, part of Colson Group, is investing in a new automated polyurethane manufacturing line at its Magnolia, Texas facility. This strategic expansion will introduce advanced manufacturing technologies, automation, and modern production processes to support future business growth. The Quality Control Technician performs in-process inspection, testing coordination, quality documentation, traceability review, and quality verification activities for the ESCO polyurethane manufacturing line. This is an onsite, first shift position with a schedule of Monday-Friday, 7:00AM-3:30PM with overtime as required. Pay range for this role is $20.00-$26.00 per hour.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections according to quality standards, drawings, specifications, and inspection plans.
- Use inspection tools, measurement methods, visual aids, and lab equipment to verify product and process requirements.
- Maintain IPQC records, inspection logs, traceability documentation, and quality release records.
- Support testing coordination for hardness, rebound, tensile, tear, abrasion, conductivity, dimensional, and other required testing.
- Investigate quality issues, document findings, and support corrective and preventive actions.
- Assist with SOP development, training materials, visual standards, quality alerts, and startup readiness activities.
- Partner with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, and suppliers to improve process control and reduce scrap.
- Knowledge of inspection methods, measurement tools, SPC concepts, documentation control, and drawing interpretation.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree in Quality, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of manufacturing quality experience required.
